What is the difference between raw honey and regular honey?
Raw honey and regular (processed) supermarket honey look similar but differ greatly. Raw honey is not heated or heavily filtered, so it keeps natural enzymes, pollen and antioxidants. We explain the difference and why raw honey is better for your health.
What is raw honey?
Raw honey comes straight from the hive and is only coarsely sieved. It is not heated (or only lightly, below 40°C), so all enzymes, vitamins and natural compounds are preserved. Real raw honey may crystallize over time – that is a sign of quality.
Regular supermarket honey
Much supermarket honey is heated and heavily filtered to stay liquid and shelf-stable. Valuable compounds are lost. Sometimes honey is blended with cheaper syrups. At Honeyfy we only sell real, raw Polish honey – no additives.
Why buy raw honey?
- More nutrients – enzymes, pollen and antioxidants stay intact
- Better taste – pure and seasonal
- No additives – 100% honey from the beekeeper
